Dr. Stephen Vaccarezza

Dr. Stephen Vaccarezza is one of NAMC's founding physicians. Read his biography below.

Dr. Stephen Vaccarezza was born and raised in San Francisco and graduated with his medical degree from the University of Chicago in 1981.  He did his internal medicine training at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York and his nephrology fellowship at New York University.  He is currently board certified in internal medicine and nephrology and has been practicing for 30 years.

His practice interests include management of chronic kidney disease and preservation of kidney function.  He is committed to listening carefully to all of his patients and answering their questions.  His goal is to make every patient an active participant in his or her care.

While he spends most of his time in clinical practice, he is currently the medical director of the US Renal Care dialysis unit in Rockville (formerly Dialysis Corporation of America) and has served on various committees in the local hospitals.

He is married with two children and has lived here in Montgomery County for the past 30 years.  He is active in the local North Bethesda Rotary Club as a past president and has participated in various community projects in the area.
